Hi All,
I found a similar thread posted from February, but there was no resolution on it, so thought I'd try my luck again. (http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... +audio+mov).
In VS X8, there is no audio playback (although the clip properties identify the audio stream as LPCM Audio / 48KHz/16bit/Stereo, 104sec Duration). If relevant, Video Stream is H.264, 24 bit 1920x1080.
VS successfully plays audio from other media clips, and other media players successfully play back the clip and audio from this clip. This it appears to be an issue the VS and this format.
The previous thread went down the road of Quicktime version installed, which I do not have any Quicktime installed since it is now a deprecated product with huge security vulnerabilities (if anyone does have it installed, remove it.. now.. without delay.. or you are inviting hacks and breaches into your system -- if not too late already!!!). I do not expect this is relevant in any case as other media players (like Windows Media Player) are successful in playing back the clip without Quicktime installed.
Thank you for any thoughts!

Re: No Audio in .MOV Clip with Videostudio
Could you try the free download latest version of VS to see if it works there?
When you place your video on the timeline, can you split the audio? This is done with right click on the clip on the timeline and selection the split audio menu item. Does then selecting the audio clip and playing works?
Would you post the precise details of your video clip, for example using Mediainfo, or the Properties that VS shows? With the details someone here may be able to help better.

Hi Juicy,
You can install QT, but only in part. I followed RobertOz advice : http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 45#p325515 and everything is fine.
I had problems with mov files and doesn't anymore : http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 45#p325586.
The whole subject is interesting to read.

Re: No Audio in .MOV Clip with Videostudio
Hi Guys,
@aljiminez - Splitting the audio is successful and creats a seperate audio track, however the audio track still does not produce any audio.
@JaRo - Read the thread, thank you for the tip; I suspect that is bang on the issue that I am experiencing (and yes, it does make for an interesting read!). At this point I am not desperate enough to risk the Quicktime minimal install to restore this functionality, as just based on my gut feel and a little reading into the vulnerabilities leaves me with a feeling that even that would put security at risk if a malicious MOV file were played. I may end up installing when needed for my editing session and then uninstall after if necessary, but I have a case open with support at the moment and will see where that goes first. Will post revelations out of that, if there are any.
Thanks!

Juicy
Can you provide a sample of your video, upload to a sharing site, Google Drive etc.
I have a canon 7D that records Mov, no audio unless I install Quicktime codec
I checked this out yesterday and I do need QT to play my audio.
