UVS9Full_Patch1_5in1.exe - 'VS9 not installed' error

Post by thinkstorm »

Hi all,

I dowloaded VS9 a couple of weeks ago and just saw the 'Update Packs' at http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs_ftp.htm. When trying to install, I get the error message

'Setup cannot find Ulead Video Studio 9.0 installed on your system'

Does that mean I do not need the patches? Or is this a 'bug'? Or a feature?

Cheers,
Thorsten

Did you download the trial version, or did you purchase it. The update patches do not work on the trial versions.

You might have a corrupt download, so you could try downloading it again. Is VS installed on a different drive, then what you are trying to run the update from?
I'll have to admit that I've had several problems with Ulead ESD's, however I found most of them to be system related. Ulead and Windows Installer don't like each other. I would also look to see if you have the current Windows Installer, you can find it here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

Those are a couple of reasons I can think of that may prevent the update from installing..Hopefully some more experienced then I will add to this..
