X9 -Can't change file locations

Post by Rick_R »

I finally have installed X9 and I'm trying to do something I always do but it's not working -- changing the file locations for Brushes, etc.

I have a location that contains the various Corel_0x files from different versions. When I do a new install, I add File Locations to point to those, then I delete the Corel default paths, since all of those items are already in the new location.

The problem I'm running into is that X9 is refusing to "take" the deletions. It lets me do the deletions, showing that there defaults are no longer there. But when I shut down X9 and restart it, the paths I deleted are back, and X9 tells me that there are loads of duplicates, because the files have the same name in both locations.

The problem exists in both the 32- and 64-bit versions. I'm using Service Pack 3.

As far as I know you can add locations but you can't delete the default locations. I know this because I've tried and not just with X9 but previous versions as well. I too get the notifications about duplicates but I only see this notification once. You could always go into the default locations and delete the contents. I've never tried that so I don't know if they will rebuild or not.
