Helplines in X9
I am working with a great collage an need the helplines very exactly between each picture. It seems very tricky... My eyes are driving me crazy after hours of working!
First: I wish to place two helplines in the middle of this collage, horizontly and vertikaly; is it possible two place the 0 of the straightedges in both middles?
Second: The spaces between the pictures must have a distance of 1 cm in each direction. Is there an easy way to create such a raster? It is very difficult to set the helplines exactly to the edges of the pictures.
Third: If I try to replace the pictures they would not be affixed with magnetism on these helplines.
Please see the example to understand better what I need.
Thank you very much!

Re: Helplines in X9
Thanks Radim, but there is no time to learn a new program! Indeed it seems that Inkscape is very interesting. I will try it out in the next weeks or months.
What I need is help for my project I began in PSP...
No ideas anyway?

Re: Helplines in X9
1) If you want to place two guides exactly at the center of the canvas you can use my script found here: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 6&p=313667
This script does one thing only, it places two guide lines at the center of the canvas. Place the script into the scripts-restricted folder, and run it from the scripts toolbar.
2) I have another script that might help. It's called Guides - Fit to Layer. If you can make a rectangle that is exactly 1 cm wide, this script might be of use. You can see it in action in the video I posted - http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=60554
3) Make sure "Snap to Guides" is turned on. Go to the View menu and make sure there is a checkmark next to "Snap To Guides" (View -> Snap To Guides) If there isn't, just select this menu item to turn on snapping. You can adjust how far away you have to be to have the guides snap into place by going into the "Grid, Guide, and Snap Properties" also in the View menu.

Dear LeviFiction,
1.: perfect!
2.: I cannot understand correct your video... But what I see is exactly what I wish to do! And many more
Step 1: File - New - Vektor Background
Step 2: How I have to fill this background with your guide lines?
Step 3: I guess that I have to drag and drop my photos into vector 1 and then to place them?
Next steps are understandable; anyway I hope so and will see after your answer.
Many thanks for the job (work?) you've done with this video!
3.: Got it, thanks!
By the way: my pictures have in this case the format 750 * 500 pixels. Is this changeable for further projects?
Many kind regards from Good Old Germany!

Re: Helplines in X9
You can literally use any size image or layer that you want. There are no limitations. And you can use raster or vector. It doesn't matter. These scripts will add guides to the bottom, top, left and right of the layer itself. So as long as the layer is the size you want, you can use these scripts.
This is an almost identical video to the one in the script post, but it's more dedicated to your needs. In this video I use three rectangles to make guides that are exactly 1cm apart.

Re: Helplines in X9
Okay, I noticed all steps that I have to do, and it works fine.
But I have to insert about 170 pictures what is a terrific work; is there no way to automate the script? E.g.: fill raster 1 with guard lines for pictures sized 750*500 pixels and guard lines between them with the distance of 1 cm.
The user may have the possibility to change the sizes in the script itself.
This were a dream!

Re: Helplines in X9
Is it possible to script? Yes that is possible.
Give this a try:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8FlF ... GNtT1BHUm8
This script must be placed into your scripts-trusted folder as it uses TKinter to provide a dialog box for ease of use.
The thumbnail width and height are always in pixels. But the margins can be set to inches, centimeters, or pixels. It defaults to the same resolution as your current image. And if you want to delete all of the current guides in your image make sure to check the "Delete Current Guides" checkbox before clicking "Add"
Here is a video demonstrating its use: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8FlFL ... FwVTA/view

Re: Helplines in X9
YESSSSS!!! My gosh, your are great!! Even you gave the choice to delete old guides... This all is so perfect!
I think I am goin' to love you...
Still only one question:
I made the mistake that my raster 1 have not enough space for all the pictures. I could not find out to enhance this image without destroying all the layers.
I am sure you have a solution

Image -> Canvas Size
That command will increase the image size without effecting any of the current layers
