I want to have a static shot opening my video. I took a nice picture, and it appears in the preview window. When I try to drag it on the timeline, I get an error message stating that the file contents are not recognized. The photo is 8.12mb in size. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Why is this happening? I have a deadline that I must meet, and I'm pretty frustrated.

Re: Cannot put photo on timeline
First you couldn't use a .wav file - now a photo
Either there is something wrong with your installation - - there is something wrong with the material you are using - or you are doing something wrong
Please can we have the full properties of the photo - which appears quite big despite your comment - and can you tell us exactly how you are adding the clips to the timeline

Yes, this is a .jpg file. It is 5.91 mb. It is4606x3456 in size. Everything else can open it. I use capture to try and get this photo (which opens fine using Windows media player and other programs). When I pick this photo from my SD card or the copy I made on the desktop, the file shows up, but the destination (videostudio x9) is greyed out.
Why?

Hi
How are trying to insert the image to VS?
Open Video Studio, right click the timeline and choose Insert Photo.
Browse for your image on the desktop

Right click on the timeline, it works.
Try to drag it, does not work.

Hi
Where are you dragging from?
Most of the time I would use right click for Insert options, very rarely do I drag and drop.
I assume you are dragging from a Windows Explorer folder, I have just tried that with no problems.
You may be best to import images to the library then insert to timeline from library.
