When adding images to my media library quite a number appear to be upside down. Most are the right way up but some are not. I know I can correct this when adding to the timeline but I am really fed up with standing on my head (the desk is quite small) to see what I need to add to my project.
Sorry, it's Video Studio X8 Ult.
Any Ideas?

Re: Upside down thumbnails
Hi
Sorry for the delay in my reply, I was not sure what to suggest here and was hoping others may step in with solutions.
John...What type of camera did you use to take the photos?
I suspect a tablet or phone!
I ran a few tests using my Samsung tablet and indeed could see my thumbnails upside down or on their side.
However when adding to the timeline showed correct orientation.
Viewing images on PC and rotating via the viewer may have a simular effect on orintentation?
As far as I know he problem is the exif details written to the image.
My only solution would be to re-save the images using an Image Editor, that should overwrite the exif details and display the images correctly.
I will have another play with Windows Explorer to see if i can set the thumbnails correctly?
Post Edited
Ok I was able to set the thumbnails correctly by re-saving the image.
I used PSP to batch convert the images, just simply set to save to a new folder, all saved image thumbnails shows correct when using in VS.

Re: Upside down thumbnails
Thanks for your reply, I will try re-saving as you suggest. The photos in my project came from a variety of sources including a phone. Yes, it was the phone ones that appeared upside down.
When adding to a normal time line, they were corrected by VS but not when using instant projects.
Thanks again for your reply

Re: Upside down thumbnails
Hi
Instant Projects use a variety of effects, Customise Motion etc, and yes those could be affected using these images.
Unfortunately it boils down to the phone / tablets orientation, generally dedicated image cameras have no problems and write the exif details correctly.
