I've been using X7 without any problems until now.
I have a DVD where in the intro, there's slight crackling. There is music during this intro and the crackling only appears here and nowhere else. The crackling happens four times during the one minute intro. The rest of the DVD (26 minutes) is fine.
I checked the music track and the project in my VEGAS editing window and the crackling doesn't appear. I made a second DVD and the problem occurred again, in the exact same spots.
I don't think it will be noticed by the average viewer, but I will and it's really bothersome. Of course, I'm having to give this to the client today, so I'm nervous.
Hopefully you guys can help me in figuring out what the issue is.
I'm on Windows 7, 16 GB of Ram, GTx760--- my hardware is not a problem.
The video was placed on DVD with the DVD setting and I rendered the DVD on the 8.0x burn speed.
Here's the clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVD8DLc ... e=youtu.be
Crackling is at 25 secs, 41 secs, 49 secs, and 57 seconds.

On that youTube clip I hear no crackling at any of the times you listed.
That video from youTube is of course not in the standard DVD format so it is not really a "copy" of what you have on your DVD.

Re: Videostudio X7 - Crackling Audio
I've listened to the YT clip several times on my Logitech 5.1 speakers, and like canuck I cannot hear any crackling at all. I specifically targeted those times you specified, but again nothing like crackling. I did detect the slightest blip at the 41 sec mark, but that sounded like a minute defect in the music, and certainly nothing like a crackle.
What was the format of the original music in the project? If it was mp3, have you tried converting it to standard .wav and substituting that in the timeline?

Hmm. I'm concerned that you two were unable to detect any crackling. Maybe that's not the right term. But there is some kind of pop or just general defect at those times. I listen with headphones and can clearly hear it. (I double checked. The defect is heard on that youtube clip.)
The music source is mp3, 320 kbs and listening to it alone I hear no issues, nor do I hear any "defect" on the actual edited file. It's only happening on the dvd.
I hope you can listen again or others can listen. I'm telling you, there is some kind of audio defect happening, lol.

You are correct Daley , there are pops at 25,41 & 57. they sounds like a record pops. They are not that strong and if you haven't gave us the times and just asked for our comments on the music, no one will refer to them.
You can try mending that by converting your mp3 to WAV and re-render.

I've heard those pops at the same places with headphones and quite high volume level.
