Installation results in popup "Component transfer error

Post by perry230 »

Recently my harddisk crashed  so I had to buy a new one and reinstall all my software (OS: WinXP) including MF4.

At the end of the installation of MF4, the picture of the woman with the camera is still shown and a popup appears with the title

Component transfer error

and the text

Error: 0

This problem did not occur in the previous installation of MF4.

I searched the internet but couldn't find anything about it.Does anybody have a clue what the problem could be ?

It's an internal InstallShield error caused by version conflicts.

See if you can locate the type library mentioned in the article (ISProBE.tlb), and then register it using REGSVR32 ISProBE.tlb from a command prompt in the directory where the file is located.

Working solution

Thank you for the tip but that didn't work for me. It did get me in the right direction. I renamed the file "IsProBE.tlb" in the folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime\" to "IsProBE.tlb.old" and that worked. 8)

Thank you for your help.
