"Saved Trimmed Video" Function - Quality?

So......
Captured 1 hour of Type 2 DV to a single file.
Drag clip to timeline and set start and end points.
Click on "Save Trimmed Video" and it saves the shortened clip.

But while doing so it claims to be "Rendering".

Does this "rendering" reduce the quality of the trimmed clip?

I assume it's still a first gen quality but can anyone confirm.

Barry,
Rendering in the way you are doing it, making a clip, is like copying. There should be no degradation to the clip or source video.
