Problems with psp x8

Post by enchantedwolfe »

First off I'm running windows 10 64 bit. Now when I try to use psp x8 64 bit it will not pick up any of my filters, no matter where I put them or point to them in preferences. The 32 bit will pick up my filters, most of them, but now it gets stuck while trying to open it. I keep saying that it's doing something with the cache.
Is there any way of starting the 32 bit as a clean start, and also how do I get the 64 bit to pick up my filters?
Any help would be appreciated.

If all of your filters are 32bit filters than the 64bit version of PSP cannot use them, only the 32bit version of PSP. Since many people have many 32bit filters (including me) we tend to use the 32bit version of PSP so that we can access the filters.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say that X8 32bit "gets stuck when you open it." Do you mean it freezes? When you open what - a particular filter, all filters, or simply when you click on the Plugins menu item?

I open the 32 bit and it will not open all the way, it gets to the point of checking out the cache and then freezes. I'm wondering if there is a way to prevent this, like a short cut to clear everything out and start it anew. I know that one of the previous ones that you could, I'm just not sure with this one. I really don't want to uninstall and reinstall just to get it back the way it was. By the way when it was working some of my filters wouldn't work for some reason. If I get it up and running is there a way to fix the filters so that they will work?

Press the Shift button and hold it while you click on the PSP icon on the desktop. This will reset X8. But it will delete any special settings, including the workspace area, you might have made. Normally we would say to save these before resetting, but since you cannot fully open X8, you might just have to make the sacrifice of resetting and then rebuilding your special settings.

Once you get everything back the way you want be sure to save your workspace so that if you have to reset again you can just reload your preferred workspace.
