Can't change duration of a clip

Post by rkstudio »

I've had VS for years...now using VS Ult. X9 Pro. For the first time ever, I can't change the duration of a clip. I'm trying to change the duration of an overlay clip and it won't budge whether I try to change it in the "Options" > "Edit" screen, or dragging the clip to get it to extend on the timeline.
For some reason it's refusing to move at all.
Can someone tell me what might be causing this to happen?

P.S. The overlay clip is an image. I have always been able to extend image clips before but for some reason I can't do it now.

I have no trouble doing that. Is there anything special about this image, or does it happen with any image. I've just tried a variety of formats, including .pspimage shots from PaintShop, and all of them extend when I click on the end bar of the image in the overlay track and drag it to the right. It also works when the image is place a bit further down the overlay track and I click and drag the left hand end to the left to extend it backwards. And AFAIK there is nothing unusual about these actions: that's the way I have always done it in a long succession of VS versions...

It also works when I change project properties, so I don't think that's a cause of your problem either...

Has this ever worked for you on VSX9 rkstudio?
Reason I ask is I just had problems with a couple of applications not functioning correctly on my Windows 10 PC and noticed there was a lingering Windows update looming in the bottom RH taskbar.
I applied the updates and effectively killed one application in doing so. Some would not start at all and others were behaving strange.
I uninstalled all 3 and re-installed and have had no issues since. Only one of them was video related and not VSX9.
Just throwing it out there in case. Windows Updates always worry me.

Hi Bob

What type of image are you using?

Please right click the clip on the timeline and choose properties, what are they?
