VS9.5 Change "Default user content folder"
My default user content folder is in my Documents folder on my C drive
I had VS9.5 use a folder on my E drive for my project file... but I can't find a way to change my user content folder so NOTHING is saved to my C drive
Is what I want to do possible?
And if yes, how?

Re: VS9.5 Change "Default user content folder"
In Settings > Preferences > General change the Working Folder and Audio Working folder to where you want everything to go. And in the burning module, in the Settings and Options icon (bottom left of screen), on the Preferences tab again change the Working Folder to what you want.

Thanks... had done the first, have now done the second... so next time I do something I will check my C drive and E drive to be sure nothing is being written to the C drive

Hi
1 / In addition, Smart Proxy files are saved to the C Drive, you can change that via Preferences – Performance tab.
2 / When you do Share you can choose a save location.
3 / Any downloads or messages from the program, Do More and any Service Packs will be saved to the C Drive. I do not know how to change that?

Re: VS9.5 Change "Default user content folder"
1-I did not have proxy editing enabled, so had to enable to change the location... and then disabled proxy editing after making the change (my projects are simple enough, and my computer fast enough, that the video I work with from my camera seems to edit well without using a proxy)
2-I do select my output drive when I share to a file
3-not a problem, I will just check whenever I receive a message or update
4-When I created a DVD yesterday, there was still one file put in C:\Users\jtsmi_000\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\19.0 named PRJ_CREATEDISC.VSPTEMP.vsp which was small, so I'm not going to worry about just one file
The only reason I asked about this is that 2-3 times a year (at least) I use a program to create a full image of my boot drive, and I don't want to have that image any larger than it really needs to be, so any temporary files the program creates need to be on a different drive

As Kens reply, did you select another Burner Working Folder

Re: VS9.5 Change "Default user content folder"
Yes... my file output is set to G: (my dedicated output drive) and the "settings and options - Preferences" in the burning module the "working folder" is set to E:\Corel (my dedicated temp files drive)
The program still created that one vsp file on my C drive... which is a lot better that what was created before I changed any of the options

Re: VS9.5 Change "Default user content folder"
Well, I didn't look in the right place the first time... the vsp file I found on my C: drive was old, from before I changed the location option
I was looking in E:\Corel, and when I re-ran the program after changing the location in the burning module, the vsp file was created on the root of the E: drive

Re: VS9.5 Change "Default user content folder"
Hi John
By the way that VSP is used when accessing the burner module with clips on the timelines, from an open project.
If you were to open the burner from an empty timeline then add your video files that tempt project file would not be created.
Using that VSP will render the entire project before burning the disc.
By adding a compliant video to the burner module would avoid that render (Convert title).

Re: VS9.5 Change "Default user content folder"
Thanks, interesting to know... but since my video is not DVD compliant, I will always have a render step to "down-rez" from 1280x720 to DVD size
Still learning, and liking the program a lot
