How to get rid of the Registration dialog in VS X9.5?

Post by Sergey »

Hi,
Every time I start VS X9.5 the Registration dialog pops up where only one option, 'Register later', seems to work))) How do I get rid of this? The product is registered, I've checked it from within my Corel account.
Kind regards,
Sergey

That dialog wants you to record your e-mail and other details with Corel. I think this is useful if you need support and to show up as an owner with Corel which may entitle you to some discounts on future software.

@aljimenez: Yes, I understand this. The problem is that (1) the dialog complains about being unable to connect to the Internet; (2) when I click 'Register online' it says 'unable to connect'; (3) when I select 'register using browser' it attempts to connect to a website that does not exist (something like apps.corel.com) and (4) my VS X9.5 is already registered. What am I supposed to do in this situation?)))

Hi

I suspect it may be the type of browser being used.

Try setting Internet Explorer as default browser.
Running the program, are you able to register.

Then change your default browser to your preferred browser.

@lata Trevor, my man, you are a genius!))) Indeed, one of the problems was the browser. My default browser was Chrome. When I set MS Edge as the default... both first choices still tried to open a page that did not exist. However, the second option also displayed a dialog prompting to enter 'a validation code from the confirmation email'. After a bit of head scratching I realized that the validation code they were asking for was the license key (which I'd already entered during installation). I entered it the second time, no complaints from the VS now, and the registration dialog stopped showing up at start up. Thank you very much, Trevor!)))
Kind regards,
Sergey
