The older the version is, the more frequently you will see the deep discounts. I run PSP X8 at home and the deepest discount I've seen is the 25% discount on X9 Ultimate. After accidentally hitting the VideoStudio deep discount, starting about 3 weeks after PSP X9 came out I repeatedly opened and closed X3 several times a day at work, figuring maybe there would eventually be a PSP deep discount and I repeatedly got the 25% discount offer. Then after about a week I actually loaded X3 to use it and when I exited the 75% discount appeared.
Whether you're running X3 or X7, the reasoning is still the same--Corel isn't offering the huge discount because of unexpectedly poor sales as someone suggested, they're offering it because you're not using the immediate previous version, and a 25% discount might not be enough to get you to upgrade but a 75% discount might and 25% of retail is better than 100% of no sale.
