I only have two questions I can't seem to find the answers to:
How do I turn off the magnifying glass (I guess that is what you call it) that appears when an area is selected for capture?
How do I set the screen capture to automatically process when I click the end point of my area I select? Clicking on the "Capture Button" for each capture (and I do hundreds) is time consuming and annoying.
I prefer the older version. Keep in mind that with some of the newer laptops you have to press the Function Key in order to get the F keys to work. I used to simply press CTRL+ C key to activate the capture, and you took that away.
Thanks

Re: Version X9 capture screen area settings not found
I use X7, so if things have been changed drastically in X9 please disregard the following.
If you have the magnifier active (ctrl+alt+m or menu View/Magnifier has a check mark) you'll see the magnifier whenever the cursor is over an image in the Edit workspace.
The screen shot setup dialogue has a check box "Multiple captures" on the right, under "Options". There's a "Include cursor" check box there too. Has that dialogue changed?
Here's a Corel video: http://learn.corel.com/tutorials/using-screen-capture/
As to the key to start capturing, it's Shift+c in PSP if you haven't changed it/customized it, not Ctrl+c (even Corel probably doesn't want to disable the Windows standard Copy command).

Re: Version X9 capture screen area settings not found
Thanks for the reply
Yes things have changed considerably.
Yes you are correct Shift-C is still correct my mistake.
In previous versions (like yours) when you wanted to capture an area you could select Shift-C and on the portion of the screen you wanted to capture when it appeared you would right click the start point an outlined would be displayed showing the area being selected. And when you were ready you would left clicked to complete the selected area. If you were doing multiple selections you stayed on the page if not you returned to the work area.
In X9 the capture features are quite different. Now when you right click to start the selection the outline now has handles you can use to resize the area should you have missed your target area. Not a bad feature. However there is also a menu bar that appears under the selected area for each capture. It shows the size of the area selects along with three buttons [Capture] and [Cancel] and setting gear icon. There is also a floating window that is a magnifier of sorts (why I have no idea). The settings button is used to change to another capture selection type. I would love to show a pic but none are shown in the user guide and I don't have the means to upload for a link.
I do multiple capture as part of my graphic work and having to click the [Capture] button on the menu bar each time instead of just simply left clicking is time consuming (as you have to move the mouse to the button each time instead of just clicking where the end point you've selected) and very annoying to say the least. And for the most part the magnifying box is always getting in the way as it floats near the cursor.
There is (not that I can find) any documentation of how to disable this feature and revert to the actions similar to previous versions.
Long winded I know but thanks for your feedback.
Maybe someone will be able to figure it out.

Re: Version X9 capture screen area settings not found
Hi
If you go to File ScreenShot - Setup, choose the Settings Cogwheel
To the bottom are several radio buttons (unfortunately no descriptions)
The second button has the option for Multiple Capture, maybe that’s the setting you are looking for.
The magnification panel, not sure why that shows?????
I think the screen capture needs a little more design work by Corel........
Upload Attachment......
The forum post will allow you to Attach an image, limited in size to approx. 700px, not sure of the exact limit.
Use keyboard PrtSc to capture full screen to clipboard, or Alt + PrtSc to save active window.
Paste as new Image to PSP, save as Jpeg to attach to post.
