Stuttering sound and video

Post by Appelqvist »

hello, just downloaded and bought the full version VS ultimate 9.5. And ever since im been banging my head with the stuttering. But I found out that when I changed the sound level in the thumb nail preference from 100 to either 50 or 150 it ran smooth as water. but when im activating the "multiclip" it says that its have to change al settings to default.... and it instantly start stuttering and hangs after a while.....
soundcard video card fully updated
is it possible to permanently change the default sound level?

video clip is from a GoPro Hero4 Black

Best regards. Mats from Sweden

yes a bug has been reported with some video formats which gives problems with sound and video - changing to any other value than 100% - say 99% or 101% seems to cure the problem - not sure where your changing the sound (maybe just your terminology) - the usual place would be in the options panel for the particular clip - I have never had the problem myself - and I never ever use multiclip any way - but I would assume that Videostudio would expect all clips to be identical to use it and the only option it has is default values - - but hang around a while and I am sure some one who has the same problem will have a solution

Hi

I have to say I have never used Multi Trim, I have tried that option but feel easier using the Scissors along with mark-in mark-out (F3 – F4) allows me to remove any frames.
I noticed your second post here
http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=60455

If you can provide a sample of your 4K video, I would and I am sure others would test the video to see how it performs on our pc’s.

If you need more info in trimming clips

http://lata.me.uk/corel/trimbar/trim_bar.htm

scroll down to Trimming Tool.

Post Updated

I just noticed the Multi Trim message to reset attributes, that did not change the volume 99% setting?

Hi

You appear to be speaking in English.

Clip playback on my pc is so poor I would not be able to edit.
Project playback when using Smart Proxy is ok, not sure what it would be like if we added effects or titles, But certainly good when played on its own.

Smart Proxy files are quite large 518Mb for this clip and did take a long time to render.
Make sure the proxy file has been created before closing Video Studio
A small icon shows on the clip when using proxy files.

Multi Trim

Yes I have a problem when trying Multi Trim, I can only assume Smart Proxy files are not used when using Multi Trim.
As I said earlier I prefer to cut on the timeline using the scissors, along with Mark-In / Out I can remove unwanted frames.

Sorry but I do not have a solution to Multi Trim poor playback.

Hi

I assume you are referring to timeline playback and not Multi Trim as I cannot use Multi Trim with this clip.

I did not have reason to increase the level to 150 but doing that did not affect the quality, the sound level did increase a little, I think, very difficult to hear that raise in volume.
Then again I do not know what 50% increase equates in DB???

As it stands I am not having problems with this sample video, provided I use Smart Proxy and do not use Multi Trim.

Whether I am capable of editing longer 4K video with my computer, I don’t know?

Apologies regarding Multi Trim, yes the volume does revert to 100.
When I first tested I did not apply the trim but hit Cancel to return to timeline.
