VS and Google Earth Pro

Post by alanball »

Hi all,
is anyone using Tours in Google Earth Pro to create videos for use in VS? I'm having problems doing tours with more than three stops, as GE keeps on locking up after three locations (probably a memory problem) although I have tried all the suggestion on the internet to speed thinks up. I know this is not a VS problem but a GE problem, but it looks as though the GE community site is closed. I was wondering if onyone on this site has had success with GE and any advice they could offer. Videos pruduce by GE and played in VS are fine.

Also do you know if a 64bit version exists, not found one.

Thanks

Hi Canuck
sorry i'm so late with reply, I've been sick for a frew days. Thanks for the link, I did find that not long after your post, interesting site, but not good for searches, too many interesting thinks to take you away from what you are looking for!!
I may have to join the user group which I did'nt realy want to do, so may end up just using screen capture. I found the VS capture jurky, the Win10 capture was an improvement but will see what other options are availabe.

Thanks again.

Exactly what problems are you having. Your first post is unclear where your problem lies. If it is with GE then of course this is the wrong forum.
I have created several "tour" movies with lots of "tour points"with GE and VS has no problems with them.

Hi Canuck
my problem is with GE not recording while in Movie Maker, and so not a VS problem. I tought posting on this Board if someone used GE they may have had a routine they go through when using Movie maker that works OK for them and perhaps may have a clue as to what might cause Movie Maker to stop recording. I will try the web page you posted thanks.

Is the "Movie Maker" option under Tools greyed out when you have selected to play a tour? If the "play tour" bar is showing when you try to create the movie then your have to remove that toolbar and the Movie Maker option is enabled. I discovered after reading GE forum.

Movie Maker is avaialbe and works ok and I can record a movie but only have the option of 10fps. By using the TOUR recording, I have the option of recording at 25fps. So I have been trying to record a preset tour with say eight locations, but find that the recoding will stop part way though, not at any specific point. I must admit I have not tried playing the 10FPS on a TV with VS to see what it looks like, so will do that before I go any further.
Thanks again Canuck.
