New User - Filter Question

Post by K4GAP »

After no response from Corel I seek an answer to my question here.

Does Videostudio X9 Ultimate include the Boris Graffiti 6.1 filter? This is the filter that allows through it's process the same person appearing twice in the same video.

X9 Ultimate comes with the Boris Graffiti 7.0 set of filters. X7 and X8 came with Boris Graffiti 6.1 (which could be upgraded to 6.6). But as far as I am aware, the filters in 7.0 are the same as in 6.0. I have opened 7.0 in Advanced Mode, and there are a very wide range of filters included, but none which on the face of it would allow duplication of a person in a video. Can you give any more information on the precise Boris name for that particular filter?

EDIT: I wonder if it is this that you are talking about --- http://learn.corel.com/tutorials/how-to ... ng-effect/ Gripps' tutorials are excellent. As he says in this one, the cloning effect can be achieved with Boris 6 and 7 in Advanced Mode.

I upgraded to x9 Ultimate. The Boris filter only shows in the Special category. Does not show on the main everything list. Could it have the wrong file path? If so, where is that normally located?

Hi K4GAP

It would appear that your library has not installed the Boris clip to “All” this does happen sometimes.

1 . try resetting the library from Settings Reset Library.
2 . otherwise try resetting the program by deleting / renaming the 19.0 folder from
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\19.0

The folder structure is hidden by windows, type “appdata” to the start search panel to access.

More info here
http://lata.me.uk/corel/reset/reset.htm
Written for earlier versions of windows but folder is in same location.

The Boris Graffiti file is called Graffiti7.vft and saved here:-

C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio X9\vft_plug

By the way we can save any filters to our Favourites folder by right clicking any filter, can be useful for our most used filters.
