I have been away for a time, due to illness, and I don't remember how to create a DVD with Corel Video Studio X8.
In previous versions inside the programme you cold see an utility, entering in SHare, where you had the option to create a DVD.
I'm sorry, I'm getting old!

There is a version comparison table here - but I would suggest that - unless you intend to do some very serious editing - the changes from X8 to X9 are not enough to make the upgrade worthwhile for you
