I'd like to scroll a table with two columns (for example, team name, number of points, each in separate columns) from bottom to top of the screen, with only a few teams out of the total list showing onscreen at any one time. Scrolling text is not a big deal, but the table part of it sure has me stumped.
I've thought of doing the table in Word and converting it to PDF, then to some graphic format that VideoStudio can digest, but that seems really clunky.
Does anyone have any better ideas on a way to accomplish this?
Thanks!

Re: Scrolling text with two columns?
If I couldn't line up the two columns properly using the Videostudio title option I would create the table in a graphics programme and export it as a transparent .png to be put in the overlay track and scrolled up at whatever speed you wanted - using 'customise motion' - which would also allow you to stop at any point if you needed to

Re: Scrolling text with two columns?
It's very simple Jay,
put one column as overlay1 and the second as overlay2 if they have same number of lines they will scroll in unison. ** Actually, no problem of pasting the 2 column table as scrolling single clip

Re: Scrolling text with two columns?
Yes that works asik - slight improvement - if you select multiple titles you can type both columns independently and lock them together for scrolling in customise motion - no need for two separate titles

Re: Scrolling text with two columns?
Hi Brian and Asik,
I guess I'm missing something. Here's what did:
1. Entered two separate columns of text into a title track.
2. Moved the track into an overlay.
3. Tried to use Customize Motion to scroll the text up.
The problem I encountered is that the columns of text are longer than the screen, and so, unlike the standard scrolling text title, this technique didn't draw from the text that extended beyond the screen limits.
I'd really like to do as Brian said and pause and restart the scroll in several places using Customize Motion, but I don't seem to have this right. Any ideas?
Also, I'd like to crop the scrolling text so that it only shows up in the middle third of the screen. Any ideas for that would be much appreciated as well.
Thanks!

Re: Scrolling text with two columns?
Hi
Brian when we add text to the screen, not all words show as the column is to long to fit on screen, unless we reduce the text font size. The customise motion only affects the viewable characters, a bit strange I know. A little different when using a single image clip.
I have not checked text quality after reducing the font to fit screen? Could be an issue?
But text size can then be increased using Customise Motion
Text Animation and Fly bottom to top could be used, but would only allow one pause unlike Customise Motion.
I guess the amount of text may affect which option is most appropriate?

Re: Scrolling text with two columns?
Oh, I see now. Sorry, I clearly missed your instructions to make it as an image in the first place, Brian. Thank you for your patience -- now I see how to do it.
