NEED HELP!!! blacked out clips and previews....

You have un-linked the thumbnail in the timeline from the original video

did you insert direct from a camera or SD card and then remove the camera/SD card from your computer

after you had inserted the video to the timeline did you do anything at all to the actual video - move it to another folder - rename it - delete it - anything ?

what you see in Videostudio is not the actual video - it is a thumbnail link to the video which must be somewhere on your computer that Videostudio can access all the time - so when editing in Videostudio you first need to move/copy your videos to a folder which is always accessible to VS - then when you insert/import in VS you will not have this problem

delete the black and white image in the timeline and start again

Nope all I did was unload the videos from my camera onto my computer and uploading the videos from the file on my comp to the program...

OK - delete the black and white block in the timeline - then RIGHT click over the top timeline and choose "Insert Video" - use the dialogue box which opens to browse to the actual video file - select it and then click on 'open' - does the video now appear correctly ?

You can also try to click on the B/W timeline picture with the right mouse button a replace the clip ( in this case yiu have to select the same clip from your archive - you will see what will happen.

its not a problem of inserting the video into the track or timeline because even the preview is glitched out.... watch the video...

Do you have the latest version of Quicktime player installed on your computer - I have it as version 7.7.9

Ok so i used a file converter to convert a clip from .mov to mpg and it seemed to fix it but now the audio from the clip is absolutely destroyed......And i can play the files on quicktime no problem....

Could you upload that clip to a website like Dropbox or OneDrive so that we could download it and have a look at it?

BTW, what is make/model of the camera/camcorder?

so i got a wierd message when i tried to use fastflick....... I'm using a nikon aw110 waterproof camera

Every time I click on the Dropbox link, it crashes Firefox, never had that issue before

Opens fine in Edge. Just downloaded it.

It inserts into my X9 library just fine, with image. And has the image when I drop it in the timeline. Plays fine in both clip and Project mode with or without being selected.
