X9 Ultimate: Face tagging is not available

Nature of the problem

Hi everyone,
After having worked with Serif PhotoPlus and Cyberlink PhotoDirector for quite some time I have decided to give it a try and use Paint Shop Pro X9 Ultimate.
Installation went fine. Update to version 19.0.2.4 (64-bit) also.

Here is my problem:
Trying to use "Find People" the three possible options (scan selected photos, scan current folder, scan subfolders) are simply grayed out and hence not available for clicking!
In addition, when I select a photo and try to use manual tagging under tab "people", it also doesn't work - it is not selectable and also grayed out!

I have contacted tech support and for three days I have received certain unhelpful e-mails every 24 hours or so. I had sent them an mp4-file showing the problem, but apparently they haven't really cared for this.
In addition, I have de-installed the program and re-installed it - with no better ending...

Has anyone here encountered a similar problem with face tagging not being available?

And what is wrong with this type of tech support? Are they always that slow - and not responding to the problem described? They even got detailed system information. But as I have mentioned before: I sent a mail, they "answer" within 24 hours, then I write back and have to wait another 24 hours... (Having used the chat support possibility, nice people tell me that they would inform tech support and that tech support would contact me asap...)

Hope someone knows what to do. I am getting desperate here - and haven't even started using the program yet.

Face tagging is available on my system (X9 64 bit).

In the end I have decided to continue using Serif and Cyberlink software.

Random problems seem to occur with versions of PSP - I encountered a few with X9. A method that often clears up the simple ones is to reset the program. To do this, save the workspace and close PSP. Then press the shift key while starting the program and follow the prompts for returning to factory settings.
