PSP x7 vs X9 Text detaches from path when editing

Post by Leehawnshee »

Having recently upgraded from x7 to x9 I'm having issues with files created in x7.
The problem is that I have files with text on a curve that needs editing. As soon as I apply the change the text detaches from the path.

What am I doing wrong or what setting do I need to change?

X9 handles text differently than X7 and I found I had to do some testing and experimenting to get the sequence of steps correct for X9.

I created vector text on a vector curve in X7, saved as pspimage, opened the file in X9 and did not have a problem in adding to/editing the text and in modifying the curve it was on.

Edit: After writing this I experimented some more and found that after modifying a portion of the text, if i clicked on the check mark to complete the text jumped off the line. This happened a number of times. Then I found that if after modifying I clicked on a different spot in the text I was able to save it successfully. I did this a number of times with portions of the text, adding then changing font or colour and also when replacing all the text.

This definitely seems to be a bug in X9 but I need to do some more testing to see what sequence causes the text to detach.
