X9 - mask and chroma key - set transparency

Post by Ilene »

having an issue in X9..

I'm adding a solid color to overlay track and want to make it transparent.

In the past I have always selected Mask and Chromo key, and adjusted the transparency. For some reason the transparency option is grayed out. I can set a border, but I can't activate the transparency tool UNLESS I check mask and chroma key first, then uncheck it, and then the transparency option is there? is this standard for X9 or is something wrong?? seems like I have the work around, just thought something was wrong, or that this was a bug?

thanks

Agree, this seems to be a bug. Perhaps a better work-around: Click Mask and Chroma, click Apply Overlay Options twice (once to set, again to unset) and then the Transparency comes alive.

Correct. Thanks. That works. Do we think this is a "known bug?"

I have entered this bug into the system. Since it is a minor bug (in my opinion) it may take a while to fix. The fix may not appear until next version... Al

I just experienced this issue myself, but additionally, I actually have a second overlay clip at the same point in the timeline which I also want to make transparent, and on that clip, the transparency box/slider is greyed out no matter what I do. Can this be added to the bug description (or as a second bug)? Or is there some reason that you can only have one overlay clip be transparent at a time?

Thank you,

I just discovered I can set opacity within Customize Motion, and that seems to work fine for multiple overlays.
