PSP X5 Freezing

I have been having quite a lot of problems with my X5 freezing.

It freezes when I apply an effect, select a layer, switch between my browser and PSP. It's not anything specific that causes the freezing, but seems very random.

Sometimes it will freeze for a few minutes, and sometimes I have to use the task manager to close the program.

I am at my wits end.

My files aren't that big, either. I'm a tagger so I try to keep the image sizes under 600 px.

You could try resetting X5 to default as this seems to cure a number of issues. Here are the instructions:

I actually did a complete uninstall & reinstalled the other day. But I did try this so will let you know if it worked or not.

So far it's holding up....no major freezing! Woot!

It freezes for a couple seconds here and there, but nothing like it was.

Well today it's really freezing up again...ugh.

I was hoping for the best...

It seems the within a couple days is when I start having the major freezing. So not sure what is really the issue.

I have X5 installed but I'm using Windows 7 Pro so I can't test the compatibility on Windows 10 for you. Maybe another user has both X5 and Windows 10 and can tell you if they are having any issues.

You could always download a trial of PSPX9 and see if you experience the freezing issues.

I'm actually wondering if upgrading to X9 would fix the issue or not. I see it is compatible with WinX so it may be a better option for me.
