Perfectly Clear Complete 2 and Perfect Eyes

Post by Terry7732 »

I have recently installed PSP X9 Ultimate including Perfectly Clear 2 SE and the other extras. I also have Perfectly Clear Complete 2, Perfect Eyes, Perfect Skin and Perfect Exposure. All these plugins install and show in the plugins section of the effects menu. However, when I try to use them I get the following error messages:
Err = 14001
Cannot load Perfectly Clear Library, followed by:
PaintShop Pro
Plugin caused an access violation
I have now removed them and just left Perfectly Clear 2 SE.
Has anyone had similar problems, or does anyone know how to overcome these problems.

For more clarity, when you had all of the other plugins you mentioned installed, was it only them that didn't work or did Perfectly Clear SE also stop working?

That said, have you tried installing the other plugins one at a time and testing each separately to see if perhaps one of them is causing a conflict with the others? If you install one and it works, then install another, etc. If the first one you install doesn't work, uninstall it and try installing another, etc.

When I had all the other plugins installed it was only them that did not work, SE carried working normally.
I tried installing the other plugins one at a time and the result was the same, they did not work individually or as a group.
For the record I am using X9 Ultimate 64 bit and Windows 10 64 bit (including the anniversary update), but this should not make any difference since the Athentech plugins are all 32 bit and/or 64 bit.
My initial suspicion was that Corel had tweaked SE in some way to make it more compatible, but I checked with Corel Support who knew of no reason why the plugins would not work.

I notice that your Profile says you are using Win 10 32 bit -- you might want to correct that.

Did you install both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of X9 (which is the recommended default)? If so, do the plug-ins crash both versions?

Originally I installed both versions of X9 and yes the plugins crashed in both versions, so now I only have the 64 bit version as I do not need both.

I agree with Ken; it looks like your profile reads Win 10 32 bit. See the part I've highlighted.

Update:
I re-installed PSP X8 on another computer running on the same system. Perfectly Clear Complete 2 installed and ran perfectly, which shows me that there is some conflict between PSP X9 and Perfectly Clear Complete 2. Anyone have any ideas?

Just want to confirm; when you say you installed PSPX8 on another computer running on the same system do you mean Windows 10?

Hopefully someone else with Windows 10 can test this for you.

I'm on Windows 7 Pro and I downloaded a trial of Perfect Eyes and had absolutely no luck even getting it to show up under Effects -> Plug-ins.

I checked with Athentech and they insisted that Perfectly Clear 2 was compatible with PSP X9. I pointed out that Perfectly Clear 2 worked fine with PSP X8 but not PSP X9 on the same computer system. I have now sent them the log file generated when I installed Perfectly Clear 2 for them to investigate.

In case this might help anyone else, I have had some issues with x9 ult and Athentech Perfectly Clear as well as ASPro 3. Corel support has been very good at sending information to use. I ended up,using cleanup & re installing in safe mode which was very helpful and much quicker than the usual installs that I have used in the past. Finally got a standard version of ASP to load and work but I had updated to ASPro 3 before all of the issues so am waiting on a link for that.
Athentech is now working in X9 32 bit but not in X9 64 bit but it does work in X8...During my work on all of this I found that I have two APC in control panel/programs one for x8 1.0.0.135 and one for x9 1.0.0.122....I find it interesting that 8 has the higher number????? both are called file version 15.0.0. 498...still in contact with support and thinking about trying Anthentech to see what happens on that.

My harddrive is now a Crucial_ CT1024MX200SSD1 SATA Disk Device and I had thought that maybe that is interfering somehow as it is supposed to be more encrypted???? Had to have our Quickbooks program reset by their support group because of that but everything else has been fine....

Terry7732, I have got exactly the same problems as you, except I was trying to install Perfectly Clear Complete Trial. I was getting an error message saying that a .dll file was missing. I contacted Perfectly Clear and after numerous attempts we couldn't get Perfectly Clear Complete to install. I also sent them a log of the errors, but it didn't help. I eventually gave up, and decided to stick with Perfectly Clear SE. I think that there is a conflict with Corel PSP, Perfectly Clear and Windows 10. If you do eventually get a result, I would hope you post and solve my problem too.

Hi everyone and thank you to all who have tried to help.
I have finally found the solution.
I also tried Athentech Tech Dept who were unable to help. Perfectly Clear SE must have been tweaked by Corel so that it works with all PSP programs.
I tried two computers, one new and one a few years old, but both with Windows 10.
By a process of elimination it appeared that Perfectly Clear Complete would work with PSP 32 bit version but not the 64 bit version. Next I found that it worked on the old computer but not the new one.
By comparing the installed programs on each computer I discovered that the new computer did not have all the versions of Microsoft Visual Basic C+ (for those that do not know these are Windows add-ons that enable third party programs to be used).
After I installed the missing Microsoft add-ons on the new computer Perfectly Clear Complete worked on both computers.
I hope this helps anyone else with similar problems.
Of course all this may become purely academic when Athentech releases Perfectly Clear Complete Version 3 in two months time.

This might help folks with similar problems.

Awhile back I bought Smart Photo Editor Studio, which says it can run as a Photoshop/Photoshop Elements plugin but doesn't mention PSP. The non-Studio version is $20 less but doesn't include the plug-in file. The trial version is the non-Studio version.

I installed the Studio version and before I registered it I tried it as a PSP plugin and it gave me a similar "Exception" error. After I registered it, it works in PSP. So problems with add-ons may be that the trial version won't work as a plugin or won't work as a PSP plugin.
