I'd be glad if you could tell me what happens if I want to reinstal X9 in future (maybe in a few years time - e.g. if I change computers).
I bought a copy of VS X9 to be downloaded. I was sent a link which was valid for a month, which downloaded a program of approx 10 MB size. This then ran and installed 2.8 GB of files in the x64 program folder, and 37.5 MB (all of which look installation-related) in the x86 folder.
I dont want to run the installation program again to see how it does this, but I presume the original 10 MB program downloads the much larger final program and files.
My question is, if I want to reinstal the program at a later date, will the files downloaded by the original VideoStudioX9.exe program (which I have saved) still be available?
Or have I misunderstood the process, and the 2.8 GB of files are all somehow compressed into the original 10 MB download (difficult to imagine)?
For previous versions, I have had all the files I need on a DVD and just reinstalled from there.
I tried finding this information on the discussion board, but could not.
Many thanks if you can say what happens,
Jim.

Re: Reinstalling VideoStudio x9 in future
Hi,
Interesting thought that a 10MB can be 2.8GB, but it's not.
This file is the installer, and it downloads ~3GB of stuff for each 32/64.
I believe you can run it just to download those files and not TO INSTALL and than these files can be backuped.
