Hi Guys
CVSX9.5
There are problems in using Voice Over, these are some of the issues.
1 / Voice over is terminated if we press the mouse, we could be scrolling our text narration.
Voice Over should only terminate using ESC or pressing the play button for pause.
2 / Voice Over terminates at the duration set by windows screen saver, even though the screen saver is turned off, Unbelievable yes I know, but please try to replicate this.
How…..
First set Screen Saver to 1 minute, then choose None to turn off screen saver.
You should also turn off power settings that close down the pc or screen display
Voice Over terminates at 1 minute, at least that’s what I see and can be replicated.
In the past there have been posts relating to Voice Over, as others did not or could not replicate issues it was thought it may be the users PC, well yes I guess it is.
If I set Screen Saver to 5 minutes and my voice over is only 3 minutes then we won’t see any problems, but users recording longer finds a premature termination of the recordings.
If we can replicate this issue I will pass on to Corel Support.
The workround of course is to set Screen Saver to a longer time.

Re: Voice Over termination
Could also be a bug with Windows not recognizing audio interactions in the Screen saver system. But then again, you say you have turned off Screen Saver, so does not make sense. Does Screen Saver trigger even though you are using the microphone whether in VS or not?
BTW you should say what OS you are using or this tests.

Re: Voice Over termination
Hi Al
Thanks for the reply
You did not say if you actually tried Voice Over?
I did say if we can replicate this problem I would escalate to Corel Support.
My operating system is Windows 10 as shown in my profile to the right.
I have since tried Windows 7 with the same results.
Windows 10 has a voice recorder that works without problems, it does appear to be associated with Video Studio only, I did not try Windows 7 voice recorder but assume it would be ok.
Problems generally don't make sense.....

Re: Voice Over termination
1- I never used Voiceover before.
2- I placed JPG on track 1 set it to ~16min.
3 Set voice over , turn the radio on and hit START (No indication of anything but scroller move)
4- went to read the paper.
5 Came back after about ~14 min, still looks ok, at 15min screen went black
6**** Voice over has terminated
7 The culprit is my power settings , and not in screensaver as it's none. But this makes sense to me as how one will do voice over with no video for reference?
On my VS19.2 win7sp1

Re: Voice Over termination
Hi Asik
Thanks for that
If you turn off everything that shuts down the pc or display than Voice Over should continue, yes you would think that.
Turn Display to Never, and any other power settings to never / none.
Set Screen Saver to 1 minute then set to None, run Voice Over.
The reason for 1 minute is simply to reduce the voice over test time,
Cheers

Re: Voice Over termination
If you do not wish to run Screen Saver to allow for Voice Over then None would be set, yet that setting interrupts Voice Overasik1 wrote:But who set screensaver with LCD ? it's a non issue.lata wrote:Hi Asik

That's the point with all Power settings disabled, Screen Saver set to None still affects / Terminates VO
