Pan & Zoom & Hold

Post by bytemon »

Just upgraded from VS5
Would like to pan & zoom, then hold for a second or two. I know I can do this by adding a new key frame, but then it was a challenge to make the last two key frames the exact same size.

I'm hoping there's an easier way to do this???

Hi, why don't you try the right mouse click?

I guess I would ask you to be a bit more specific - "right mouse click" where, when.

Again, I'd like the pan to zoom out, then hold for a second or two.

Not the most helpful of answers

when you are setting up key frames if you right click on any of them you should see options such as 'copy to next' - - 'copy to all right' etc. - so if you have set a key frame for the start of the hold period you can copy all the attributes set for it to the next one - thus ensuring identical keys at the start and end of the hold

Hi

You may also use Customise Motion rather than Pan & Zoom, right click clip for option.

I am sure Brian will agree it is more versatile than the simple P&Z

The "add key frame" the right click and copy right worked.

Not sure how "customize motion" would have helped - although if it's less cumbersome than adding a key frame, adjusting the key frame window, then right clicking (and copying right), I'd like to know for my next project.

Customise motion controls the position - size - orientation - in fact every thing to do with a PiP or just an object onscreen

but it uses keyframes - something I am afraid you are going to have to learn to cope with if you want any sort of motion of any object during your video - how else would you control all the aspects of the motion and size of an object - you need to tell the video editor - whether it Videostudio or any other programme what has to happen at fixed (key) frames during your video

I think if you play around a bit it is infact quite easily managed
