I wonder if someone could do this test before they update .
With a file and layers in X9 (19.0.1.8) (SP1), Save that file as a pspfile, and then save it again with a different name but in the options save it as compatible to PSP X8 or X7 or whichever previous recent version you have.
Then update with SP2 - (19.0. 2.4) .
Now try and load the files. Does the (19.0.1.8) break all pspfiles it is saved as or only those saved directly as a pspfile for X9.

Strictly speaking these are not Service Packs as they change the second number ie 19.0.0.96 with first patch would have become 19.1.xx.xx instead of 19.0.1.08
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Unfortunately, I can not currently testing the file versions 19.0.0.96, 19.0.1.8 and 19.0.2.4 with X7/X8 compatibility files options, but I suspect that it might be due to the changes to the PspImage format options in SP1.

just updated to 19.0.2.4 64 bit and it's painfully slow executing plugins like the Nik Collection.

I didn't have that problem. I had an image open in X9 when I got the update notice. I saved it and reopened after the update without a problem. However, I saved as X4 - X7 file type because I can't use X9 to run scripts that add text.

As I haven't had any of the problems described I won't be installing that huge update.
