Lately I've been having a problem with my Video Studio. I am recording a 25-30 minute teaching session with my laptop and built in webcam. The program appears to be recording, the numbers are increasing as I am talking up to 25, 30 minutes or so. Then when I stop the recording and go to edit, the video is only 8:40 long. It was working fine a few weeks ago.
I recently upgraded to Windows 10 from 7, would that be an issue? Is there some setting somewhere that I have inadvertently clicked?
It's got me stumped. I've been using Windows Movie Maker as a stop gap for the last couple of weeks, do the editing in VideoStudio, but I'd rather just using VS.

Have you tried reverting to windows 7, and running the record again? to see if the upgrade was the cause of your problem.
Within 30days, that is supposedly a windows 10 option.

What is the file size (in Gb) of the video which you have recorded when it stops at 8:40 - what format are you recording in
what format are you recording with in Moviemaker - how big is a 25-30 min video from that

and is your OS 32bit.... what resolution are you using when you record.

Hi
A recent post regarding Voice Over prompt me to test the process, there was a problem with voice over terminating early, but that actually stops the recording.
I found my Screen Saver caused interruptions to recordings even though screen Capture was disabled.
I need more tests to confirm this, certainly something odd going on here.

2. I am recording to an internal HD, The X9 files are around 3 to 3.5 gigs when completed, about 1 gig when they are stopping on me.
3. My OS is 64 bit
4. When using Windows Movie Maker, the wmf file is about 500 megs, apparently. Surprised they are that much smaller.
I have lots of room on the HD, so I don't think that is the issue.
