I want to make stop motion videos, but I'm undecided as to making it with many photos, or making a video and clipping it. I would appreciate some opinions as to the best way to do this. I know both methods have pros and cons, but a general consensus would be nice.
I'm making a test with the method of many photos, but I'm not sure of the best way to get them into VS. Does it need to be one at a time? It seems like that would be very time consuming.
BTW, I'm using VS Ult. pro x9.
Thanks.
What is the best way to make a stop-motion video?

Re: What is the best way to make a stop-motion video?
I presume your photos are in a folder on your PC. As they will be separate files, you can use "Import from Digital Media" in the Capture section to import the whole Folder.
Stop Motion is creating animation from inanimate objects by changes in movement captured in a shot of one or more frames.
The whole process is included in the VS software and you do not need to make external photos. The process will make the video for you and all you will need to do is add the sound. You will need a suitable camera that VS recognises plugged into your PC.
I use a HD Webcam aimed at my "set" on a table and compare the changes in motion using the "Onion Skin" effect, I normally keep the frame settings to the default of 5.
I suggest you read the User Manual p225.

I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

Re: What is the best way to make a stop-motion video?
Thank you very much for the information. I will try it out tomorrow since it is late here now. I have a canon sx40 hs camera, but I dont' think it's one that VS will work with. I'll try it again though.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
