PSP 9X Ultimate Vrs 8X Pro
Is there rally a big enough difference between the two to justify an upgrade other than the new Ultimate is selling for the same as the Pro version upgrade for the next couple of days. Seems to be a lot of difference of opinions on the subject would like to hear form some of you that did upgrade, as to was there an improvement? I'm getting ready to swap out to a new computer, and figured if the 9X wa even a little better It would probably be worth it.

I think you'll find not many people purchase every new version of PSP. Instead waiting for a version or two to pass that way the upgrade does become worth it as you gain everything that has been developed between the different versions.
Whether or not the new features and various changes are worth it, is entirely individual.

Re: PSP 9X Ultimate Vrs 8X Pro
I tend to be very frugal with my purchases. Not every upgrade is 'worth' it based on features alone. In my case very few 'new' features would tempt me to upgrade. I'm also a coward at heart. Tooooo afraid to be a test dummy for Corel. So I simply wait for the 'bugs' to be squashed and the price to drop before I'm tempted. However the down side to not upgrading is being left behind. This forum is a great help. Even though most threads are of no concern to me reading them makes me aware of any issues and the various work around and upgrades. Knowledge is key. It makes the decision to up grade easier.
To be fair though I now use Photoline as my go to editor with PSP being my favourite external editor.
regards

Re: PSP 9X Ultimate Vrs 8X Pro
I haven't done the upgrade because X8 Ultimate included the same version of Perfect Clear 2 SE and I recently got VideoStudio X9 Ultimate, which includes the same screen copy programs (and I don't do screen copy anyway).
What you really need to ask yourself is "What do I and what will I actually use?" Then see if there is a "gotta have" feature in the new version that the older ones don't have. Most programs that have been around a number of years, whether MS Office, Corel WordPerfect, Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, PSP, etc., have loads of features most people never use ... but if you don't own or ride horses, would you buy something just because it comes with a saddle you don't have?
(OMG! I guess living in Texas 34 years has finally rubbed off on me!)
