Importing a customized toolbar

Post by Jean-Luc »

I have created a customized toolbar in X8:
X8 X9 customized toolbar.jpg
I want to use this toolbar in X9 without to recreate it.

There is no option for this feature in PSP but I think it could be stored in the registry.
Someone has tested ?

The aim is to share, between users, customized toolbars and not the complete workspace (difficult due to different screen sizes).

It is stored in the registry, but as a part of several registry values "encrypted" in hex strings. While probably do-able it would take a lot of work to properly work out how each value works, and work out what values need to be added, adjusted, or removed to add in a single toolbar with references to various commands.

Honestly, it would be easier to just remake the toolbar.

Could you save it as a workspace? Note that you might be able to share workspaces for the same version of PSP, but don`t try it with a different version as it will often cause issues since tools and functions differ from one version to the other.

As for a specific toolbar, I have never heard of a way to share, and if you think of it, it would be risky considering the various versions of PSP where people would WANT to share, but couldn`t.

No, the Workspace saving saves all toolbars, original and customized even if not "checked/visible".

I think it could be less "dangerous" to share specific toolbars (customized) between same version or a previous version to a new version only.
