Hi there.
I have one .cdr image, but I don't have Corel Draw. I need to convert it to something usable for me. I try some online converters, everytime without success.
Please, can anybody help me? What I need to do is just open it and batch export layers to separate .pngs with alpha. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9u6cmuddjs0hx ... e.cdr?dl=0
I don't get any error and have downloaded the image. I also have CorelDraw X7... but I have to confess I have never used it for the purpose described here...
That being said, on opening the image in CDraw X7 and trying to save it in the desired format, I found that there was no PNG option in the Save As dialogue in any case. See attached image for available formats.

Hi Ken,
If is possible, can you export it as svg and pdf also?
Problems there too. With SVG I get the message that it can only save one page. So I tried that. Then did a separate save as page 2 i.e. producing two SVG files.
The problem is that neither will open in any of my graphics programs, including CorelDRAW, PhotoPaint (which comes as part of the DRAW package), PSP, and my old Photoshop CS2. All of them except PhotoPaint in fact seize up and had to be terminated with Task Manager. PhotoPaint it turns out does not support SVG! But when I try to open the original CDR in PhotoPaint -- which is one of its accepted formats -- it tries (and fails) to convert it first to a Bitmap, which of course does not support the layers you are after.
No problem converting to PDF, but I am not sure that will give you access to layers either. I will email it to you nonetheless.
Thanks Matthew. I had no idea that Export was the required move, and of course it worked. Again, I saved each page as a separate PNG with transparency. And they opened fine in PSP. However, as you suspect, only as one layer.
As for opening the SVG in my browser, I have absolutely no idea how I would go about doing that!
You can drag the file into your web browser, or use the Open command in your web browser. SVG is a web standard so all modern browsers should be able read it unless it's jus too complex.
OK Thanks. I had never heard of SVG until today! No trouble opening the first page SVG in my browser. However, the second page brought up a message that it was unreadable. PSP X9 brought up only one small part of the image then crashed repeatedly. Had to be terminated with Task Manager.
So I went back to DRAW and tried exporting the second page again as an SVG. This time I noted that there was a second tab on the properties box which indicated there were 5 'Issues' with the image, all of which no doubt are what caused the problem. See the attached image.
But again I have to confess I have no idea how to get around this and we are now way off a subject which should be discussed in this forum...
