Just an FYI re Ultimate:

Perfectly Clear 2 SE is the same version that is in X8 Ultimate.

Live Screen Capture is the same tools in VideoStudio X9 Ultimate.

We are all users here, like you, who volunteer our time to help other users. Corel execs rarely visit here.

Assume you checked in your Spam folder...?

Which password are you talking about? If it's the one you use to access this forum, then it has no relationship at all to the Corel.com one. If you have already registered a Corel product, then the usual username there is your email address; plus whatever password you might have used.

If you can find the Paintshop Pro Facebook page, you could post there. We understand Corel often responds quickly on that more public forum!

Just purchased and downloaded X9. In the process of downloading the extra's right now but the update 19.0.1.8 will not work. It downloads okay and the exe starts but then I get an error message telling me I have to close PSP when it is already closed. I have even tried to download directly from the Corel Support site hoping that would work (it has in the past) so far nothing has worked. Any insight would be appreciated...

Also my computer is filling up with lots of raw files so I am looking for files safe to delete. I have PSP 7 & 8 Ult still in the computer... is there any real advantage to keeping both of them since I now have 9? Disadvantages to deleting?

If it was me, I would keep X8 and ditch X7.

No advantages or disadvantages, other than more harddrive space. They're separate programs.

I am sorry you are experiencing such trouble with loading the X9 update. Maybe roll back your system to before you installed the update and start again?

Joelle thank you very much for your reply. I will ditch 7 then. Hard drive space is what I am after.

Update from this afternoon... I searched to see if by chance PSP was on start up but it was not...so I decided to try something outside the box (for me anyway LOL) we left for a couple of hours so I left the computer on but PSP closed..then made sure I did NOT open it up to look at anything and let it sit until the update exe did its thing and it worked...apparently for some reason PSP kinda hangs onto my system for a while after it is closed...no idea how long yet. But anyway I now have version 19.0.18 ....I do love my PSP even with that initial issue...all's well that ends well ;-)

If that had not worked the rollback was next in line...

A number of us have noted this over the years. If you look in Task Manager's Background Processes you will see the still running PSP module. You have to terminate it using Task Manager's End Task command. Sometimes it terminates itself after a minute or two, but sometimes it just runs for ages unless manually terminated. While it continues to run in the background you can't reopen PSP again.

Installed on computer with x8 (windows 10 Pro); just like going from x7 to x8, the x8 is kept; need to remove it manually. No problem BUT: when I look on the list for add/remove, it notes that x9 is 327 MB and x8 is 27MB (!!????). Is this correct In both cases I have 64 and 32 bit versions installed.
Is x9 that much bigger? Doesn't seem to have THAT much new stuff; OR, was something previously associated with x8 now with x9;
I don't recall this happening when I went from x7 to x8.

I think it is the X8 that has inaccurate size.

Curiously enough, my Control Panel > Programs and Features on my Win 10 Profile computer shows PSP X8 as being 170 MB and X9 also as 170 MB (with X7 on the same computer being exactly the same!) Corel Video Studio X7, X8 and X9 are shown as all being 289 MB. I have never looked at this before, but frankly don't believe any of them! That being said, it doesn't particularly worry me as all of them work perfectly well.

I've also just started up another computer (running Win 10 Pro) which shows PSP X6, X7, X8 and X9 all as having 219 MB. It also assigns this size to Video Studio X6, though VS X7, X8 and X9 all show 317 MB!!

On another note, unless you have a problem with disc space there is no need to uninstall previous versions of PSP, as they all co-exist nicely. And there is an advantage to keeping at least one previous version installed. You'll have it available for use in case the newest version you install starts to misbehave for some reason or turns out to have a bug with a tool that you need in your workflow. Just a thought. :-)

As well programs generally get installed on the C drive and leaving other data files there is a waste of the space on your C drive.
You are probably better to move all unnecessary data - downloads, documents, images over to an external hard drive first rather than deleting your program files.
I have 1 Tb C drives in my Desktop and laptops and even with all of my versions of PSP installed I still have hundreds of Gb to spare. I have earlier versions to test problems that others have, and also because the latest versions still do not have the ease of performance of basic operations that say PSP X2 has. I use Levels, Red Green Blue , Unsharp mask, Adjustment layers , Hue Saturation and Lightness and Brightness and Contrast far more than I use Text cutter, magic Fill and some of the later adornments in X7, X8, X9.

Thank you for the advice, Ken Berry...I will give that a try next time...Right now am busy trying to get X9 to work properly after update 2 to 19.0.2.4....Finally got AS3 to work with X9...found the drop down menu in AF3 preferences and saw both x8 and x9 there for the choosing so that was solved for now anyway.
Now after the update, am having problems trying to save or save as or save as copy ...getting an error "requested parameter not found in repository" .....so cannot go any further with it...also the scripts are not showing up as they should ...they are there in the files, just not being recognized by the program.....x8 seems to be working okay right now, so glad I kept it...support has answered my e mails but so far problems have not been solved in x9...

I had problems, different from yours, when I installed the second upgrade but was able to get rid of them by resetting X9. To do that, save your workspace, close X9 then restart while pressing the shift key. Resetting seems to solve many problems, I hope it helps you.
