I haven't used x8 much since upgrading so perhaps everyone is getting this same behavior. However, before I posted I did a search on "have permission" and nothing showed up.
1. Open an existing jpg image and saveas a psp to allow for layers.
2. Make several changes, do several saves.
3. After so many saves get the message, "you don't have permission to open this file". "contact the file owner or an administrator to obtain permission".
Huh? What gives here?
Fortunately I was allowed to do a saveas and create a different file name, which can be opened.
Next time, open psp as administrator, repeat steps 1 - 2 on a different jpg -- but get the same messages.

How many saves do you do? 3, 10, 30?

On this particular file I did perhaps half dozen saves before I got the nasty messages.
Not a difficult workaround is to SAVEAS to a different filename (append an incremented integer) and proceed.

ps: yesterday, I did more than 20 saves on a different file but had no problems at all.

Sounds like a problem with Windows, not PSP. I've had this happen on occasion after moving files, and going out of the folder and then back in stopped that message.
