Rendered video quality X9

Post by gradym »

I don't do a lot of video editing but I am putting together a short video comprising multiple .mp4 clips in VideoStudio Pro X9. I find that even with Smart Proxy enabled the playback is very juddery. When rendered (I've tried all the formats!) the result is sometimes pixellated and the audio goes out of sync. This is despite the individual clips being absolutely fine.

I've no idea what information might be relevant so do please ask (but I may not necessarily know what you mean!).

In order to match the quality of the original video clips it is vital that you match exactly the properties for the output with the properties of the originals - it does not happen automatically you need to do some setting

so when you went to 'Share' did you just select mp4 - or did you use "same as first video clip" - or "same as project settings" ( assuming you set the correct project properties) - can you tell us what you did to set your properties

Hi BrianCee, thanks for your reply. I hadn't spotted the "same as project settings" before, so I tried that - it makes it worse as some of the video disappears completely! I didn't have an option for "same as first video clip".

The project settings are

MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Main Profile Video: 16000 Kbps, 16:9
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps

I didn't touch these or set them up, I just imported my MP4 clips and put them together with music and a couple of photos. Is there an obvious thing I should change? I have checked the clips and they were also shot at 25fps.

The first clip is 1280x720, data rate 2904kbps, total bitrate 3031kbps. Audio 126kbps.

lets make sure you have the project settings correct - go to "Settings >> preferences" and in the dialogue window which opens about half way down click to check the little box against "show message when inserting first clip to timeline" - ok out of that

now in Videostudio put your first video clip in the timeline and a message will appear asking if you want to change the properties to match the video - say yes to that - now madd the rest of the videos and music etc.

now when you go to "Share" and select "same as project settings" you should be able to render out a high quality video

Hi

Just to add, go to F6 Preferences – at the bottom is the TV System, make sure that is set to Pal.

You show the MP4 having 25fps so I assume you live in the UK.
