May have nothing to do with it, but I noticed that the Anniversary Update had turned Fast Startup back on. I had previously disabled it on my PC as had been advised it could cause and perpetuate problems. Noticed that whilst going through the rigmarole of uninstalling and re-installing PSPX8
Windows 10 Fast startup now disabled again

To turn off Fast Startup
Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable > uncheck Turn on fast startup > Save changes

FWIW I have always had Fast Startup enabled as it was the recommended option by MS. This was in the original Win 10, version 1533 and now 1607. Just checked in Control Panel to make sure. And I can only repeat I have no trouble with the 64 bit version of PSP under 1607...

Sad to hear all the problems with Windows 10- in the news about various issues with the Anniversary Edition.

If at all possible for users to steer clear of it- way too many system stability issues.

Some may not have had a choice if it came on a new PC, but if you do have a copy of Windows 7 get rid of 10 or just expect more trouble.

Fast Sartup was suggested as a possible cause of the Start Menu problems in Windows 10, which I certainly don't want to cope with again ....

Looks like it's Microsoft's issue to correct and they have acknowledged it here http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly ... eae81a7745

The above article offers a workaround.

Good luck.
Yeah, the Anniversary pretty much tanked mine too. Even uninstalled the six printers I have as well as the scanners. Some programs were just the blue spinning circle and never launched, or took several minutes to do so. The only way I could stop the blue spinning circle was a reboot.

From the link above, it appears it is affecting a lot of the SSD computers where the Windows 10-64x OS resides on - which mine is. I did the roll back and restore and it's working right again. I read where the restore is only good for 10 days so if it's bad, best to get rid of it -- Quick. Seemed it had a lot more lack of privacy things to dig through too, and Cortana.

Least MS has admitted it is screwy somewhere in its "Try it. You'll like it!" current beta form.
