Editing with camera off
I've noticed that when editing video on Version 7 I cannot disconnect or turn off my camera (Sony HDS-AS200V) without losing all my work, even if files have been saved to videostudio. This was true when working on a GoPro, too. This doesn't seem right. If I upload the clips to videostudio, why can't they be saved to return to later? This means all editing on any project must be completed in one session with the camera always on. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Why don't you copy the files to your computer.
What you want VS to do if you keep using the files ON the camera.

Hi
When we Insert clips to the timeline video studio does not move the files but creates a link to the file, it then displays the clip as a thumbnail, a virtual clip. The actual files remain on the Drive.
Your camera I assume has a SD card and is acting like a removable drive connected via USB to the PC.
If you turn off the camera video studio can no longer see the files and requests a re-link.
You should upload the files from your camera to your computer, a folder on the hard drive, then Insert to VS from that Folder.
The same relink would happen if you now removed the files, re-named the files, in fact changing the files location in any way will cause a problem.
