ok I have just downloaded the trial did not like it on install .. I have Windows 10 and 64 bit I have PSPX8 Ultimate on computer I installed the trial and saw no option to install for both bits like X8 has ( love that option they allow you to have 32 also ) the trial only installs 64bit no choice if you have 64 bit .. I even uninstall 8 to see if that makes a difference at install still no option to install 32 bit option for 64 computers

I need to know I teach a beginner's class and need to know if the buy versions ( download & CD box has option to install both bits ) I have beginners that has 64 bit computers and use 32 bit refuse to use 64 bit space due to plugins problems I can not recommend them to upgrade to 9 and get rotten tomatoes thrown my way plus what to know myself before buying thanks ..Bev

Hi Bev,
when purchasing X9, you have the choice to install only the 32 bit version or only the 64 bit version or both (recommended).
The trial version doesn't have the possibility of choice.

Thank you Jean-Luc for the info that makes it so nicer for my students and for me to I will not need to duck for cover
I wasn't for sure if I would upgrade since I had X8 I have had up for a couple hours now writing a tutorial I have not had a chance to really snoop around the tools and effects yet but got to agree with DougP
it is allot faster smoother and does not hang like X8 do not get me wrong love 8 I did try the text tool but it would not used much by me ... I will give it a day or two and play around then I will decide but I do not see allot different from 8 either like the other members stated if I upgrade it would be for the speed and the hanging
I would love to see & been asking this since Corel took over from Jasc with version 9 I hate the black in the workspace and program it hurts my eyes if on long period of time .. the grey is better but still hurts my eyes just a one different color just a bright one & keep it would not matter if it is white, beige or blue, a mint green just a one light or even a pastel color there was one release version that they had lighter beige I loved it & was not fuzzing but they did away with it now I am fuzzing again
will keep you all posted on how my trial goes everyone have a good weekend

Ok, forgive me, second post in this thread. Being a newbie, and a contrarian, doing something other than Adobe is appealing, but given new bug intros (ok in a new release, mostly...) however not fixing old ones, just seems lazy. And the pricing is with firing range of Adobe CC, even on Amazon, and it seems like the world rotates around the "Sun" of Adobe, along with all articles, advice, plugins, depth (and learning curve...) But, I can get X7 or X8 for $35 or $40, instead of $100 at this point.

A benefit, hopefully, of the Adobe CC is the ability to get updates "blown in" without having to wait for a roll-up of fixes every 4 -9 months. (I'm not sure if that's what Adobe is doing (anybody know?))

I'm not going to be a pro photographer, but I like depth to the apps I use. I'm stuck, and I don't want to spend a frustrating 6 mos to a yr figuring it out. I'm too old.

Salient advice welcome1

Works Ok in X8 so makes one wonder why with the introduction of some new features they stuffed up the coding for this.
I also have the same crashing problem in X9 with Image > Free Rotate and changing the direction from right to left with the radio button.

Is there any solution yet?

I have 32-bit version installed, haven't had an files hanging. But I haven't had that problem in X8; not sure what you are talking about "switching from one tab screen to the next." Are you talking about Manage and Edit tabs? I don't use tabbed documents. I don't have a problem switching from Manage to Edit in any version of PSP. My disappointment comes from the new text feature. To me, it is broken. To each his own.
