Yes, some folks would like photomerge. PSP was purchased from JASC and uses a different code base than Corel's professional line. Adobe can spend a lot of money adding a feature to their expensive Photoshop line and then just disable parts of that code base to create Photoshop Elements. Corel would have to code and test photomerge from scratch just for its PSP product--for its low-end hobbyist product, a product that can sometimes be purchased for $40.
And, there are free programs available that do a pretty good job of photomerging.
Like other companies, Corel "designs to a price point". They decide how much the product will sell for and they determine what features it needs to compete with other products in that range. Then they see what resources they have (people, money, etc.) and what specifics they can do with those resources. The bottom line is that for most PSP users photomerge just isn't a big requirement. The few times we need it we can do it with other software.
Can you make the 'padlock' icon on a vector layer prevent objects on that layer being selected/moved. At the same time the ability to drag a out a rectangle to select all (unlocked) vector objects in the drag area would be very useful.
hello, i use x8 and does not want X9 but, i have hopes for X10 if....
i have only 3 wishes (to hope the purchase update) :
- fixe the .jpeg extension bug (not solve in X8 update)
- fixe the real Save CTRL+S without dialog bow apparition (still there in X9) or at least, add this behaviour in an option/configuration user pref.
- fixe the tab index order key everywhere (like in the resize window by example !). When i press the TAB key, i need the order is right ! this is not profesional at all to not order the keys' shortcuts in windows.
hope
i'm a Paintshop pro user since 1999 on windows 3.11 until now with psp2018 on Win7 X64
It is impossible that such a version will be offered with the name X10: X means 10; and X9 is 19!
So a new PSP must to be called XX - or simply 20.
There's a problem with calling it XX. What happens when they reach version 30? Lots of websites, search engine filters, school LANs, business LANs, etc., filter out anything containing three X's on the assumption in might have "adult" content.
And realistically, even when they get to version 21, 22, etc. Would they call it XXI, XXII, etc? People still routinely screw up roman numerals. And XX1, XX2, just doesn't have a good "product name sound" from a marketing perspective. Nor does "Version 22"--look at the mess of Google Chrome and Firefox being at version fifty something. "X10" has a bit of a "cool" sound, but "twenty" just doesn't.
Related to that, look at the names of all the new medicines advertised on TV. They almost all contain a Z, a Y or an X. Psychologically, in a new product name those letters come across as being a little "rebellious" ... avant-garde. It's not an accident that Microsoft's game console is called X-Box and Apple didn't put out "OS10".
Will be interesting to see what they call it? X10, 20, or XX. I guess we'll find out in a month or two when they release it.

Do you know when they're going to release it exactly. I just checked the thread and saw it was started in Aug 2016. I've been using X7 since 2015 and to be honest I've been quite comfortable with it. However I'm upgrading my OS to Windows 10 soon and would like it to coincide with X10 release.
None of us here work for Corel, so none of us know exactly when the new version will be released. However, the normal pattern for Corel is to release a new version approximately a year after the last version. So I imagine the next version of PSP will probably appear in August, but exactly when is another matter.
