Repair install of X8 possible?

Was wondering if there's a way to perform a "repair installation" of X8 instead of uninstalling the whole program and start over from scratch?

You can reset to factory default. This article refers to X6 but it applies to X8 as well.

Oh, by repair install I don't mean resetting the program but rather installing files that might otherwise have been corrupted or damaged by a virus or spyware attack.

You know, like how you can repair install Microsoft Office applications.

The files are on you hard drive and you open files to access items for PSP. Why do you want a repair?
If you run the PSPX8 exe file, it will ask if you want to do a repair. Click yes and let it do its stuff.

If I click the installed PSPX8.exe that's on my drive, it simply launches the program (of course this means everything is OK). If however I click on the PSPX8 Setup.exe it thinks I want to completely remove the program (as per screenshot attached). I have nothing to repair at this point in time but I have had occasions when it wouldn't start (for some reason) and the only thing to do at the time was to clean wipe and start over. In all the years I've been running PSP I've never seen it offer a repair option.

FWIW the Reset to Default method does seem to have the same effect as a repair. It's worth trying and if it doesn't solve your issue then you will need to uninstall and reinstall.

If you go the uninstall/reinstall route you may want to use the cleanup tool found here http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=52337 to get a clean uninstall.
