Set Crossfade as your default transition in Preferences.
Then simply overlap the photo with the previous phots in the timeline by the amount of duration you want

Hi Kenneth
The various points comment,??????
If you right click the transition in the library there is an option to Apply effect to Video track, not overlay tracks.
This will add transition to all clips, duration as set in Preferences.
Otherwise it’s a manual, one at a time job.

Re: Inserting a transition into a line of clips
To clarify, in my present project there are instances in the main video track where there a line of say 15 images where I want to apply a crossfade transition but only to them and not all of the video track. At present, I am adding the crossfade manually in between each of these 15 images. In other instances, I apply the transitions manually choosing them as I go. So what I wanted to know was how to apply the crossfade to the 15 images in one "swoop" if that is possible.

Re: Inserting a transition into a line of clips
Hi Kenneth
There may be a workround.
First set F6 Preferences to your preferred transition and timing (automatic set transition effect)
Also set the Image duration
Place a marker at the beginning of the first image. (A chapter point would do)
Drag all 15 images to the library
Delete / remove the images from the track
Drag images back to timelines marker
All images will be the same duration, all will have the transition applied.
Remove marker.
It works but maybe as easy to drag that transition?

OK,
Thanks for that Trevor, that sounds logical, at least now I have a choice of how to do what I want.
