Just bought Corel Paintshop Pro X9 but can't install...
It says that it can't find a network resource IPM_CommonX86.msi
It is looking in a folder that does not exit. It is looking in C:\programdata\corel painter\1.0.0\updatehelper
I searched my hard drive, but I did not find this IPM_CommonX86.msi

Re: Just bought Corel Paintshop Pro X9 but can't install...
I found the file IPM_common_x86.mis in the Corel Painter 2016 and Corel Painter 2015 folders. I pointed the Paint Shop Pro installer to the one in Corel Painter 2016 folder and it was happy with that.
I assume that it wanted this file since I previously bought Particle Shop, although that is just my guess.

Contact support. Seriously, brand new purchase and install help. Best to talk to support. X9 only just came out as an early release. Very few people will even know anything about it at this point.

As LeviFiction indicated it is just being released. Corel have told us that "loyal upgrade customers will start seeing in-product offers for the new version"... Evidently that has already started in some regions...

Re: Just bought Corel Paintshop Pro X9 but can't install...
Thanks. I wasn't sure how that worked. Does Corel have a page where one can at least get an idea of what new features would be in the upcoming product? I'm always curious to see what's coming up, although with most programs nowadays that are releasing new versions every year or so there doesn't seem to be much new that's really innovative.Ken Berry wrote:As LeviFiction indicated it is just being released. Re: Just bought Corel Paintshop Pro X9 but can't install...
I haven't looked to see as yet -- though www.paintshoppro.com is still only showing X8. Unfortunately, my home network is tied up at the moment downloading and installing the Win 10 Anniversary Update on several of my computers... so I will need to think about PSP X9 a little later.

Well, I do have an open ticket.
But like I said....I got it installed and it appears to be working OK. I found the file it was looking for; it just wasn't where the installer expected find it.
So why is there no Painter forum?

We don't have a Painter forum because there already is one called Painter Factory as Kathy pointed out with the link.

It's the full version, but past customers get first dibs. It's not available to everyone just yet.

Re: Just bought Corel Paintshop Pro X9 but can't install...
Had the offer for PSP X9 for A$66 upgrade and purchased it.
Version number is 19.0.0.96
Had no problems in installation on Windows 10 laptop. I did a fresh bootup before installing just in case.
Very pleased to see that the Save function is back to normal again
In General Program Preferences some changes:
Miscellaneous - Save Edit history to image metadata.
Display and Caching - Show Labels on the Tool Options palette
New Gradient Fill tool shows some promise - is a sub tool of the Fill tool and allows real time editing of a gradient and changing colors by selecting swatches.

Are you sure about that? I thought so too when I first opened it, but on looking more closely it now seems to be Save As all over again...hartpaul wrote:Very pleased to see that the Save function is back to normal again
