Problems printing via Pro 8 64bit

Post by paulo »

I am trying to print photos that I have cropped and adjusted using Pro 8 64bit version. The printer is a Canon MG5550.

The first one I tried printed fine but others have been difficult or impossible. Method...click 'print', print window opens but print image on the right side of that window stays blank. I see the curser revolving that usually shows that processes are taking place but it just goes on and on indefinitely. On opening Task Manager is says Corel 8 is not responding. On viewing Processers (in task manager) I see that it is running continuously at 100% and the laptop seems to be frozen.

On ending Corel 8 via task manager the laptop works as normal and is usually problem free. I tried rebooting laptop but that has not helped. My laptop is running Win 7. Occasionally I can get one of the photos to print properly. I processed all the photos using exactly to same method and the properties of all photos seem similar.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
I can resist everything except temptation

You have 3 possible culprits. PSP. The printer. The file.
First off I would make a copy of the file and see if the copy does the same thing. If not then you have only PSP and the printer to address. So given that you're not going to run out and buy a new printer have you tried printing via another program? If you have another option then try it. If it prints ok then you know it's a PSP issue. If it is a PSP issue I will leave it up to the PSP 'experts' to make some suggestions. But in my case I use a specialized printing program. QImage. If printing is important to you then I would look at QImage to manage all your printing options. PSP is an all round program. Does most things well. But it doesn't come close to a tool box full of specialized programs.
