Hello all, I have footage that was shot at 60FPS for slow motion effects and footage that was shot at 30FPS, both types of footage are the same resolution. Does anyone know what the project settings should be? Should I tell VideoStudio to use the higher framerate footage for the project settings or the lower framerate footage? Also, can VideoStudio X9.5 even handle multiple footage frame rates? I really want to edit all of the footage on the same timeline, not edit the 60FPS footage then export to 30FPS and import to a new project.
And while I'm thinking about it, if I ever do end up with footage at different resolutions (i.e. 4K and 1080P) could VideoStudio handle both types of footage and if so should the project be set to the higher or lower resolution footage?

Re: Project Settings For Mixed Framerate Footage - 60FPS + 3
Hi
You should set your project properties to match your video files properties, assuming that is possible.
Where we mix say frame rates we have to decide which one 60p or 30fps.
I decide on my final product, if I am burning a disc I have to use 30fps.
If for internet playback I would opt for 60P to retain the best quality.
The length of each type will also influence my decision.
If I have 30 minutes of 30fps and 5 minutes of 60p then I would use 30fps.
If I add a 30 video to a 60 project additional frames will be added to the video stream.
If I add 60 to a 30 project alternate frames will be removed.
A good enough reason to match project to video properties.
The same argument above can be applied to the video frame size 1920 x 1080 or 4K
One problem in quality may be by mixing Interlacing options, Upper Field, Lower Field and Frame Based (P)
Once we Share to create a video file clearly only one set of properties can be used.
Maybe Bluray disc, DVD, or internet use?
But yes video studio can edit a mix of frame sizes and frame rates, with one chosen output.

Re: Project Settings For Mixed Framerate Footage - 60FPS + 3
Thanks lata. I ended up going with 60FPS for the project properties and rendering to 30FPS for the final product, everything rendered fine including the slow motion scenes. Playback in the preview window was hit or miss at best, but the final footage rendered fine.
