How to Change settings from "Last Used" to "Default"
Each time I attempt to edit an image, the setting defaults to "Last Used" - irritating. How to I change that (permanently to "Default"?

Re: How to Change settings from "Last Used" to "Default"
As far as I know that has always been the behavior of PSP dating back to the days when it was a Jasc software product. Because people will often process a series of images using the same settings that they choose for the first image of the series this is the most convenient behavior because it saves having to enter the preferred settings for each image in the series being processed. The "default" setting on most dialogues is often just zero, meaning no changes made to the image, and very few people would want to open an effect or adjust item that doesn't do anything to the image.

Thanks, Joe. But when I edit, I always like to start from scratch because I routinely try combinations unique to the image.

'Sticky' settings are always a personal issue. I know some folks love them some folks hate them. I happen to like them. But my 'other' preferred editor, Photoline, avoids 'sticky' settings. But it would be nice if all developers added a 'sticky' option in the preferences. Corel! Are you listening?

Re: How to Change settings from "Last Used" to "Default"
Which editing procedure are you using? Give examples?
Most dialog boxes under the adjust command have a Reset to default button present. Many tools have a Presets dialog which also includes a Reset to default button.
I prefer that last used setting as I can apply the same settings to a number of images as I work on each one.

As an example, I will frequently adjust contrast to best suit a particular image. Once I've completed the task and open another image --- requiring a new adjustment in contrast -- I must first change the "Last Used" setting (since it doesn't apply here) to "default," and then proceed from there. Why the necessary of having to re-impose "default" ?

Re: How to Change settings from "Last Used" to "Default"
When editing a bunch of images shot at the same time, I find the Last Used helpful in maintaining consistency. Yes, starting a new batch then I have to hit default and set to my liking, but again, I find it useful.

Same for most users I think. That's why "last used" is actually the default setting.rondo wrote:When editing a bunch of images shot at the same time, I find the Last Used helpful in maintaining consistency.
