Hopefully someone can shed some light for me, as it seems I might be blind.
I've just recently upgraded to X8 and I'm using Selection >Text. The feature could be better, but it does what I need it to do. However, I can't seem to figure out a way to go back and edit the text once I've saved the image in a PSP file. Following the usual methods to edit text in a pspimage, Find >Text >Highlight doesn't work. I do get a cursor show up, but I'm unable to edit the text.
I've done a test on a new image, thinking I somehow did the first incorrectly, but I still get the same results. Once the image is saved/closed/reopened, I can't edit the text.
Help, please!
Thanks...

If you want to edit your saved text you need to create as a vector and save as a pspimage file.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

Yep. It's definitely a vector. Well, it's a vector layer. Or are you saying I need to save that individual vector as it's own pspimage? And then copy/paste that to the OTHER pspimage with all the other layers?Kathy_9 wrote:If you want to edit your saved text you need to create as a vector and save as a pspimage file.

Re: X8 Text Wrap Feature - Edit Text?
You mentioned in your first post that
You can have
Selection > Select All
Selections > Select None
Selections > Edit Selection
etc.
Do you instead mean that you are typing the text as Selection rather than Vector or Floating?
I have typed two lots of text (as vector) onto an image, each group of words appearing on separate vector layers, saved it as a .pspfile
Close the original
Reloaded the saved file, layers and text were present.
Chose the Text Tool and made one of the vector layers active, double clicked on the matching text and was able to edit the text as normal.
So no problems here.
Perhaps you need to be a bit clearer and give step by step details of what you are doing.
One thing to start with is when you choose your text tool, go to your Presets on the toolbar and Reset to Default. Then describe your steps from then on . That way we are starting from teh default position when trying to duplicate your problem.
I cannot find any choice of Text under Selection menu itemI'm using Selection >Text.

Re: X8 Text Wrap Feature - Edit Text?
I'm following the directions in this Corel tutorial: "Automatically wrap text within a selection -- only in the new PaintShop Pro X8!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=No1Z_evj1bQ
I first use the Selection Tool to create a standard rectangle selection and then place the text inside. It works just perfectly and I'm able to edit the text itself, and using the Pick tool able to move the selection around. But once I have saved the entire project, which has multiple layers, then closed/reopened the pspimage file, I'm no longer able to edit the text. And since I'm creating a template, that's a bit problematic.
Typically, I can reopen a pspimage file, select the vector with my text, and edit at will. This is the first time I'm using this new feature in X8, and I'm baffled as to why I can't edit. I'm hoping (not really) that I'm just having some sort of pre, pre senior moment, and missing something obvious.
Thanks!
ETA. Just wanted to add sorry about that Selection > Text. My bad. That wasn't the right way to communicate it. Selection Tool. Then Text Tool.
