Hi
If you remove the clip from the voice track and place in Overlay track you should not have this problem.
if you update to X9 and use MCE you will find editing much easier, ideal for what you want to do.
Yes i agree there is a problem but Corel are not gonna fix this as X9 is the latest version.
I dont know any time when Corel have fixed editing issues with earlier versions.

Re: MAKING CUTS DURING EDITING
Why would I do that ? I split the audio from the video.
Audio won't go in an overlay track or title track. so there goes your theory.

Re: MAKING CUTS DURING EDITING
Hi
I was referring to placing the Video file on an overlay track and not using the audio track.
Change the size and place in a corner out of the way.
The audio will play from the video.
Not using the sound tracks will allow you to cut the track and remain in Project Mode
Its just a workround, seemed to work for me.
I did not know you split audio, you did not have to do that, i just noticed that the voice track had a MTS file.(i think)
You could have simply dragged the video to the voice track? That would load the audio stream.

Re: MAKING CUTS DURING EDITING
Sometime I take 2 or 3 cameras and make an audio file from them. I can't leave a video file in the overlay as it will be in the video I make. Again, not feasible. It's no big deal as I figured out touch any overlay video clip and then hit project and it stays in that mode. Also being in that mode it doesn't cut audio file as well... Maybe in 10 or 11 there could be a couple simple features to make audio file frozen (not cuttable) and keep project mode on. No worries, maybe someone will have same issue as I found and can learn how to work with what I found out and shared.
When you load the video file to the voice or audio file, it becomes an audio file and it can't go back when you do that. And even IF I could put the video file out of the way, if I make a mistake, I wont see it and it makes the audio have glitches at each cut as far as I have seen...I rather I have control to make sure everything isn't out of place. When I first started making videos I use to put 3 or 4 cameras in the only video track (nero 6.6) and it didn't have overlay tracks...I had to learn how to make it work. I dragged out about 2 mins each file and work that way...very tricky. Corel is so much easier.

Re: MAKING CUTS DURING EDITING
Hi
I was not suggesting that you use the temporary Video clip in the final output, but merely a way of hearing the audio, then when you have made all cuts, remove the clip.
If you are waiting for X10 or 11 why don’t you trial X9 which has a Multi Camera Editor option, ideal I would have thought for what you are trying to do.
Sorry in repeating myself?

Re: MAKING CUTS DURING EDITING
I didn't get 9 as I already do the editing the way I do, and don't think the way it allows up to 6 cameras in the one screen you actually delete any video, but choose which one to be the viewed clip (my thinking), but either or, I am satisfied doing it this way.And again, it seems they put out new versions yearly so I can skip a year or two and not lose out on anything. Not all of us have money to keep dishing out. They only have a few upgrades and the rest is pretty much the same. And since I taught myself on how to edit without any directions, I think I am doing fairly well.
Here are some stuff I have done and again, nothing fancy, but simple is more. I made a couple music videos as well as most live shoots.
